The WinZip Backup4all Plugin allows you to seamlessly back up your WinZip configurations, registry entries, and custom job settings using the Backup4all software. By automating the preservation of your WinZip ecosystem, this plugin ensures your compression environments can be quickly restored in the event of hardware failure or a system migration. How to Install the WinZip Plugin
You can quickly add the WinZip plugin to Backup4all through its native application menu: Open the Backup4all main interface.
Navigate to File > Tools > Plugins (or Tools > Options > Install plugin depending on your software version).
Click the Refresh plugin list button to pull the latest additions from the server.
Select the WinZip XML script from the “System Utility” category.
Click Install (or Open if importing a manually downloaded .xml file) to enable it. How to Use the Plugin for Secure Backups
Once the plugin is registered, it automatically tracks all relevant WinZip internal configurations so you do not have to manually hunt for hidden system directories:
Initiate Job: Press Ctrl + N or navigate to File > New to open the New Backup Wizard.
Choose Destination: Define your secure target directory, such as an encrypted local drive, an external HDD, or network locations.
Select Cloud Targets: Alternatively, safely store data offsite by authenticating major providers like Google Drive, OneDrive, or Dropbox.
Assign Source Application: On the What do you want to backup screen, locate the Applications or Predefined Backup drop-down list and check the box for WinZip.
Configure Security & Execution: Choose a Full or Mirror backup type, set up strong AES encryption to protect data at rest, and click Save and run. Restoring Your WinZip Environment
If you lose your system settings, returning your WinZip configuration to normal takes just a few clicks:
Internal Restore: Highlight the WinZip backup task in the main panel, select your target execution date, and click Restore.
External Restore: Because Backup4all generates standardized compression files, you can also right-click the raw .zip archive directly in Windows File Explorer and use WinZip -> Unzip to to extract your historical files even if the backup manager isn’t installed. WinZip Plugin details – Backup4all
