wxMP3gain is a free, open-source front-end interface for the classic MP3Gain audio normalization engine. It allows you to adjust the volume of your MP3 files to a uniform level without re-encoding the audio or losing any sound quality.
Instead of traditional “peak normalization” which can cause clipping and uneven loudness, wxMP3gain uses the ReplayGain algorithm to analyze how loud the music actually sounds to the human ear. It then alters the gain frames directly inside the MP3 metadata, making the changes completely lossless and reversible. Step-by-Step Guide to Normalizing Audio 1.
